Marcel Pinas is an artist living in Suriname, South America. His career has led him all over the world to exhibit his work. His art reflects the native cultures of Suriname and his local Ndjuka culture. I like to work freely and put my whole self into my projects. The Impressionists style has also inspired me. When working with oils, I like to use a variety of tools, such as hands, pallet knives, brushes, etc. Work Experience Abroad I have had the opportunity to exhibit my work in French Guyana on several occasoins. I have also traveled to Guyana. In addition, I attended several workshops in Suriname, given by international artists. In 1997, I received a scholarship from the Suriname government to attend Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica. The graduation exhibition was held during May 1999. In November 1999, I was selected as the recipient of the Top Student Award for the 1999 graduating class. Powered by RTTN.COM
